Be it star kids and their so-called “struggle”, or talented youth who have great potential for making a mark, millions dream to become an actor in Bollywood.
COVID-19 has been most ruthless for people involved in the entertainment sector. PVR and INOX being closed for almost 6 months are on the verge of being shut down. This wave has forced many junior artists, who have worked in famous films, either commit suicide or sell vegetables for a living.
Even the top end actors are facing immense financial issues. This picture is not seen by us but seeing artists like .Swara Bhaskar In Rasbhari, Sushmita Sen in Aarya, Arshad Warsi in Asur, etc, clearly speaks a lot. Who thought that people who shone brightly on big movie screens, would one day work in web series.
This reflects a positive growth of OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. But can it be ever compared to 3.7 billion dollar Bollywood Industry, which is shrinking as days passing.
Many big-budget films like BHUJ, Laxmi Bomb, etc are going to be released on OTT so that the makers can earn enough to cover costs and not go bankrupt.
Movies like Sooryavanshi are going to be released in theatres when they will reopen(which is highly uncertain), as the producers are not satisfied with the earnings from OTT release.

After the tragedy, thousands of dark secrets have been revealed about this industry by its members itself. Its a great irony to see actors condemning other actors, directors, producers for waving the flag of nepotism.
Is all the charm we see on screen, the vividness of great plays portrayed in cinemas a mirage?
After trolls, some star kids deactivated their social media accounts, some filmmakers boycotted the industry full of loopholes.

After all this fervor, can anyone say that Bollywood is still a lucrative career option?
